Congratulations to Burke Instrumental Families & Committee Members on a very successful Jazz Benefit on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Champions Run Clubhouse.
Burke Instrumental Music students and volunteers hosted a large crowd while musicians from Columbian, Catlin & Joslyn Elementary Schools, Buffet & Beveridge Middle Schools and Burke Jazz I & II all performed. Our very special guest, Mr. Roy Smith, Burke’s own singing custodian, joined Jazz I for a couple of numbers that afternoon as well. (You can view highlights of their performance here: http://www.insideedition.com/videos/7838-high-school-janitor-entertains-students-by-singing-all-day-long Thank you, Inside Edition!)
Guest of the Benefit enjoyed complimentary refreshments & had an opportunity to bid on amazing silent auction items or buy a chance on our raffle. The Event raised close to $8,000 – all benefitting the Burke High Instrumental Music Program.
A very special THANK YOU to the Jazz Benefit Committee: Susan & Bob Bruggeman, Ann Chambers, Susan & Jim Kawamoto, Christine & Erik Goetzinger, Danielle Grabher, Jennifer Knight, Lisa Lenz, Ellie Militzer, Deb Murray, Crystal & Tim Wieland, and Rhonda Wachholtz. Also, a big than you to all the Instrumental Music and Color Guard families who contributed money and/or items for the Silent Auction and to our all our volunteers who helped make the day go smoothly!
If you missed the event, or didn’t have a chance to contribute, it’s not too late! Look to the right of the screen & click “Donate” and help our Music Program grow!
