We have a very easy opportunity to raise money for our band through Hy-Vee receipts. The program is called “Cash for Students”. Hy-Vee receipts dated September 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012 are eligible to be turned in for cash. For every $200 in receipts our band will receive $1 in cash from Hy-Vee up to a maximum of $2,000 back in cash. There are a few exceptions. Receipts for prescriptions, tobacco, alcohol, and stamps do not qualify. Receipts for gas DO qualify. If you have receipts including qualifying and non-qualifying items still turn the receipt in to the program. Hy-Vee will separate the dollars that qualify and don’t qualify.
There will be a box in the band room labeled for Hy-Vee receipts. Please send any Hy-Vee receipts to school with your student and have them drop the receipts in this box. I will empty the box every other week and turn those receipts in to Hy-Vee. Hy-Vee has asked that we do not turn receipts in to them directly. They have many organizations participating in the program and our receipts could get lost or accidently credited to another organization. We can turn in receipts dated through December 31st through the first week in January.
Please ask family members, neighbors and friends to help with our program. The more receipts we have the more cash back for our students. Once the receipts are turned in, we will not get them back so be sure any personal record keeping is done prior to turning the receipts in to Burke.
Hopefully you find this to be a very easy and fast way to raise money for our band. So opposed to throwing those receipts away turn them in for CASH!
